District 5020 is honoured to host the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotary (IGFR) in beautiful Victoria, Canada August 6  - 12, 2017.   
 
To date we have 160 Rotarians and guests from 21 countries registered to attend and play golf at the Mountain and Valley courses at the renowned Bear Mountain Golf Resort. 
 
 
We invite you, the Rotarians of our District to experience this event, and help us to welcome our international visitors.        You can register for the entire tournament, or for the packages and individual events listed below.    You can volunteer as a host in the House of Friendship, or as a Marshall on the golf course.  Volunteers working 12 hours or more receive 25% off posted prices.     
 
 
Packages
 
  • A Taste of IGFR - this 2-day package will give you a taste of what it is like to attend an IGFR event.   Cost - Cdn $250.
    • Monday, August 7th - 7:30 AM for an 8:30 AM  shotgun start.    Fun and Fellowship Golfing event.  International teams of 2 golfers of different abilities will play in a 4 ball, best ball stableford competition.  Power carts and boxed lunches are included.   
    • Tuesday, August 8th - 6:00 PM      Gala Canada Night Dinner at Government House, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and the home to British monarchy when visiting Victoria.     The evening includes dinner with the Honourable Judith Guichon, entertainment, alcoholic beverages, and presentation of Monday's golf prizes.    Dress - Business Casual.    
 
  • Golfers' Package - This 2-day package includes participation in the "Partner and Guest" 2- day, 36 hole stableford golf competition, final gala dinner, and prizes.   Power carts and boxed lunches included on golf days.  Cost - Cdn $400.
    • Thursday, August 10th - 8:00 AM  for a 9:00 AM Shotgun Start.  First round of the individual 36-hole stableford golf competition.  Play with golfers from a variety of countries.
    • Friday, August 11th - 8:00 AM for a 9:00 AM Shotgun Start.     Second round of the individual 36-hole stableford golf competition.   Play with golfers from a variety of countries.
    • Friday, August 11th - 6:00 PM     Gala dinner at Westin Bear Mountain Hotel, including an amazing buffet, entertainment, alcoholic beverages and presentation of golf prizes.   Dress - Business Casual. 
Bus Transportation - We will be providing bus transportation between all events and host hotels.  Cost - Cdn $30. 
 
Fun and Fellowship Golf Event - Monday August 7th, 7:30 AM for an 8:30 AM Shotgun start.    International teams of 2 golfers of different abilities will play in a 4 ball, best ball stableford competition.  Power carts and boxed lunches are included.     Cost - Cdn $130.  If you want to be on hand for prizes, you might want to consider the "Taste of IGFR" package.   Prizes for this event are awarded at the Canada Night Dinner at Government House on Tuesday, August 8th. 
 
 
Individual Social Events
 
  • Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception - Sunday, August 6 - 5:00 PM  Hotel Grand Pacific.  Event includes a formal flag ceremony of the participating countries, stand-up buffet, wine and beer.  This event coincides with Victoria's Annual Symphony Splash, a live performance of Victoria's Symphony from a floating stage on the Inner Harbour.  The evening ends in Fireworks.  Dress - Casual.   Cost - Cdn $100.
 
  • Canada Night Dinner at Government House -  Tuesday, August 8 -  6:00 PM - Government House is  the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and the home to British monarchy when visiting Victoria.     The evening includes dinner with Lieutenant Governor the  Honourable Judith Guichon, entertainment, alcoholic beverages, and presentation of Monday's golf prizes.    Dress - Business Casual.   Cost - Cdn $140.
 
  • Gala Dinner and Closing Ceremony - Friday, August 11- 6:00 PM - Westin Bear Mountain Hotel.  Event includes an amazing buffet, entertainment, alcoholic beverages and presentation of golf prizes.  Dress - Business Casual.             Cost - Cdn $175
 
 
It's a Fundraiser - Proceeds from this event will go to the Victoria Food Rescue Program, and Rotary International's End Polio Now Campaign.
