Is Victoria's Old Town the birthplace of the province...
Denton, a career graphic designer, worked in agencies and studios in both Ottawa and Calgary before establishing Victoria ‘s Rocket Science Design in 1996.
He inherited his fascination for history from his father, archaeologist Dr. Jim Pendergast. In 2012 Denton’s growing fascination with Victoria’s harbour led to his developing victoriaharbourhistory.com for which he has researched and posted over 250 harbour stories to date. Despite no promotion other that occasional talks at community centres and retirement homes, the site has served well over 20,000 visitors. The site is currently undergoing a major technical upgrade.
Denton is currently a member of the Thermopylae Club and the Maritime Museum of British Columbia, a contributor to the Victoria UNSESCO World Heritage Project, and is a Friend of Centennial Square.
