What it’s like to be a family with a loved one living with dementia.

Suzanne Bell is a Toastmaster and a retired BC Public Servant.  She is the caregiver for her beloved husband Jim, who was diagnosed with dementia at the start of 2019. Suzanne and Jim are enthusiastic participants in Debra Sheets’ Memory Cafe program, and enjoy the opportunity to spend time and do things with other people in similar situations to their own.

Suzanne has been learning about the world of dementia for the past four years, since her spouse was diagnosed. She will talk about the diagnosis, what it has meant to her family life, and how the Memory Cafe has played a very positive role in their lives. She thanks Debra Sheets for introducing her to the group, and for all the support it provides.
