Supported Therapeutic Exercise Program (STEP)

MOVE Adapted Fitness & Rehabilitation is an independent registered non-profit society. Through our specialized adapted fitness centre, we provide adults and children with physical disabilities a safe and encouraging place to move their bodies, reach their mobility goals, and improve their quality of life. At MOVE we work with people of all abilities, including but not limited to: spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, paralysis caused by stroke, heart attack, and more.

Alannah graduated from Camosun College in 2017 with her Bachelor in Sport and Fitness Leadership. In her final year of school she completed her co-op work term at MOVE and in 2019 moved into the role of Executive Director. Alannah is dedicated to making physical activity accessible for all members of the community.

Jacqui graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and NASM certification in personal training. During her time at U of I, she worked for the Neurocognitive Kinesiology Laboratory assisting with research regarding the impact of exercise on cognition in children. She additionally worked with the Disability Resources and Education Services department implementing physiotherapy treatment programs and working as a care aide for individuals with neurological conditions. Following her time at U of I, Jacqui completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University.
