John Wilson is the President and CEO of The Wilson’s Group of Companies. Wilson’s has been an active member of the British Columbia Business and Tourism community for over 40 years. Since 2008, under John’s leadership, the company has grown exponentially from a small charter and rental fleet of 40 vehicles to over 200 with a variety of service offerings under their umbrella – The Wilson’s Group of Companies. Today, Wilson’s is known as one of the largest and most diverse ground transportation companies and an industry leader in British Columbia.

John serves on several boards and committees, these include being Past Chair of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Motor Coach Canada, Chair of the Victoria Hockey Legacy Society, Canadian Representative for United Motorcoach Association, Past President of Victoria’s SKAL Club, Board Member of the City of Victoria’s Economic Development and Downtown Prosperity Task Force, Board Member of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, a committee member of Destination Greater Victoria’s Destination Management and Transportation, as well as the Greater Victoria Sport Tourism Commission Committee.

Wilson’s Transportation was established in 1962 by William Kello Wilson, and started as a general delivery company. It was a small operation at the time, with just one delivery truck. After moving to Victoria, the first school bus was added to the fleet and with steady commitment to his clients – along with great personal service – Kello was able to grow his company to serve the Greater Victoria area. By 1980, his small company had grown large enough to be incorporated and became Wilson’s Transportation Ltd.    

Today, through continued commitment to safety and service, the company has grown to become the largest motor coach charter and transportation company on Vancouver Island, serving groups all over the Pacific Northwest.
