Local 3D printing technology Transforms the live of Amputees
Michael began working with the Victoria Hand Project in 2014 while completing his degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Victoria. During one of his two internships with VHP, Michael expanded VHP's operations to Nepal. After graduating, Michael began working full-time with VHP as a Biomedical System Designer, and then served as Chief Operating Officer from 2017 - 2020, establishing four new international clinics, before being appointed as CEO in late 2021. His experience spans a wide range of areas including engineering, operations, intellectual property, business strategy, fundraising, and biological systems.

VHP
Victoria Hand Project is a Canadian charity organization with a mission to help amputees in low-income communities by harnessing the power of cutting-edge 3D technology (3D printing and 3D scanning) combined with traditional, tried-and-true methods familiar to local clinicians. VHP empowers prosthetic care professionals in the world’s most under-resourced economies and healthcare systems through training, support, and equipment to create and provide our highly-engineered prosthetic arms in their clinics. Receiving a Victoria Hand is transformative: a functional prosthetic arm is an incredible tool that helps amputees regain independence, hope, and opportunities to live more productive, fulfilling, and happier lives. The impact goes far beyond the recipient, positive impact rippling through families, caretakers, and increased capacity of healthcare clinics.
