Cancer/stem cell research

On June 21st, 2018, my life took a major change when I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer. I was 27 years old, 5 years married to the love of my life, launching into my career in construction management, and enjoying life in my adopted community of Red Deer, Alberta. The journey that followed over the next 18 months would be a life-changing roller-coaster of upheaval, challenge, and trauma – but also love, growth, faith, humour, learning, and finding ways to give back. From the start of my battle with cancer, I endeavoured to record the journey online, both as a means of keeping friends and family in the loop, and also helping others to understand a first-hand glimpse into the life of a young adult cancer patient.
