WHEN, WHERE AND HOW DO I DONATE TO THE HARBOURSIDE ROTARY GARAGE SALE?
Drop off your donations at Central Middle School on Friday, May 16th from 9 am – 4 pm.
We kindly request your assistance in boxing or bagging your donations.
Please ensure that the weight of each bag or box is manageable for both you and our volunteers.
If an item has separate parts, please pack them together to prevent separation.
Items should be in good working condition and appear gently used.
As you drive in through the main entrance of Central Middle School parking lot (off Fort Street), our friendly volunteers will welcome you
We’ll check if you have any items we cannot accept, and guide you to the Drop Off Zone, where a team of volunteers will unload your items.
What items do you most want?
Sports equipment
Bicycles
Kayaks
Gardening supplies/planters (non-green plastic)
Tools
Small appliances
Household, kitchen and collectibles
Clothing, especially boys’ clothing (no socks or underwear, unless new)
Linen. Please ensure it is clean, folded and indicate size, and condition
Framed art or sculptures (no picture frames please!)
Books (except for encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks and Reader’s Digests)
Antique/vintage items, collectibles
Costume jewellery
Gold or silver (we all have a baggie of broken chains, single earrings or rings with missing stones!)
What items do you not accept?
Underwear and socks
Homemade craft items
Carpets
Hazardous materials.
Safety-regulated children's equipment, like strollers, car seats, highchairs, cribs, and sports helmets.
Scratched non-stick pots and pans
Ordinary glassware and mugs – boxed sets only, please.
Tupperware that is stained or missing a lid.
Toys and games with missing pieces.
CD'S
Stuffed toys (except for collectibles having original tags)
Major appliances, large TVs, VCRs, PVRs, sofas, mattresses, box springs, TV stands, exercise equipment, and old skis and golf equipment.
Magazines, textbooks, Reader's Digest, Atlas books, or encyclopedias.

What if I have items that are of higher value?
Let us know if you have something you would like to donate that is of higher value. We will sell it privately before the garage sale to get the best price for your donation. What type of items do you pre-sell?
We intercept high-quality, designer-label, lightly used clothing and sell it through consignment shops. Other items we pre-sell include:
Sports card collections
Vinyl records, especially Rock n' roll, blues, and jazz records produced from 1960 to 1970
Anything in its original packaging
Condominium-size furniture
Original art
Gold and silver jewellery – if you haven’t made that ring out of those bibs and bobs of gold yet, you’ll feel so great giving it to us knowing that it can help someone in our community – and you’ll get a tax receipt!
What happens to unsold items?
Following the sale, the remaining goods will be donated to local charitable organizations, such as the Salvation Army, Big Brothers/Sisters, Women’s Transition House, Vincent de Paul Society, and the Cridge Centre.
What do I do if I am not in town for the drop-off date but have some good stuff to donate?
