The Victoria Harbourside Rotary Club works hard all year to raise funds and distributes them to chosen organizations in Victoria.   At today's meeting, we distributed $91,000 to 15 local charities for various projects in our community.  The quick summary of all the projects are:
 
1) Ecole Quadra School for their Inclusive education program which includes books, seating and sensory circuit for students.
2) 1000 x 5 with their goal for every child to have a home library and to have those books read to them 1000 times by the age of 5.
3) Cornerstone Youth Society - one on one mentoring and assistance for girls specific program.
4) Disaster Aid Canada/Soap for Hope - Soap for Hope provides hygiene products and related items to those that need them.
5) George Jay Elementary Literacy and social emotional skills 
6) VIctoria Women's Transition House - Prevention, education, advocacy, counselling and empowerment (PEACE) camp program for kids who witness abuse.
7) Can Assist at UVic - connecting with businesses owners and managers in order to develop more jobs for youth with barriers. 
8) Kidsport Greater Victoria - so ALL Kids Can Play - season of sport registration grants at the core of their work.  Providing kids and youth in need with the financial support to access organized sport. 
9) HeroWork Program Society - Peers Power Up Radical Renovation
10) Bridges fr Women Society - Updating the Bridges to Healing Workbook 
11) YMCA/YWCA of Victoria - providing supported, semi-independent housing for youth ages 15-19 to facilitate successful transition to living independently.
12) Leadership Victoria Society - Youth Leadership development program 
13) LifeCycles Project Society - Grow Together- growing food and future food leaders on school grounds
14) WITS Programs Foundation - WITS provides programs and tools for children to resolve peer conflict and to prevent bullying 
15) Burnside Gorge Community Association - van to transport youth and seniors
